Become a Mentor: All it takes is 30 minutes a week! Oconee County is looking for mentors to work with students in grades K-12!
Although not required, it can include tutoring, lunch/breakfast, or attending school activities. Mentoring is just being an

Senior Grocery Bag Distribution: Presently, we are serving 37 seniors through a collaboration with Oconee
Area Resource Council, Action Inc, and HandsOn NEGA. We are collecting non-perishables to distribute monthly to these seniors.

Give a Day, Get a Disney Day:HandsOn Network
and Disney Parks have teamed up to celebrate volunteering this year, by offering volunteers a 1-day Disney Pass for giving a day of
service. Hands on NorthEast Georgia and Community Connection is helping with this promotion. Any HandsOn NEGA agency partner

Teen P.R.I.D.E:The Oconee Coroner's office and Cooperative Extension Service are hosting
a Teen PRIDE training on January 19 at 6:00 pm at Veterans Memorial Park. This training is a free two hour course designed for
parents and teens ages 14-16 learn how to supervise teens learning to drive. Please call 706.769.2988 for more information

Go Local: Eat, Work, Play:February 16th at the Oconee Civic Center from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, the Nutrition Education
Coalition is hosting a Go Local Workshop featuring Walter Reeves, the Georgia Gardener and Peter Dale, the chef at the National are
