Mentor Program

The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce has established a mentor program in collabaration with the Oconee County School System to provide mentors to students in need of a postive role model in Oconee County Schools. This past year, Oconee Area Resource Council has agreed to partner with the Chamber of Commerce this year to assist in recruitment of mentors. The Oconee County Mentor Program has been a success; however more mentors are needed. This rewarding volunteer opportunity only required 2 hours a month out of your time, to be a friend to a child at any Oconee County School. Trainings will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at Oconee Area Resource Council, 10 A Barnett Shoals, Watkinsville, GA or as needed. The next training will be held January 21, 2010 at 5:30 PM. Please call 706.769.4974 for information and registration for training.
